VW replacing MAF's now?

Saw this ony vortex. Seems like its only for some VIN #'s only.

I think I need to get a new MAF or O2 sensors....

1) Bad Gas Mileage
2) Idle Stuttering
3) Bad ASS gas smells

Yea I saw that too.. but i guess its for like 99-01's . Mafs for the 1.8T are crazy expensive too like 350!! or somethign like that.. i'm super psyched that mine has lasted almost a year now with my CAI and no issues.. i still get rocking mileage.. 375km on this 1/2 a tank but my idle does jump even with the green sensor.. oh well. i think its actually gas related.. i've read people put in mid range instead of premium and their car actually performed better although your chipped so it would probably ping to hell.

what is that in MPG? i hate stupid l/km i never actually figure out my true MPG i just always record what i get per 1/2 a tank..

damn guys the night of thursday meet i filled up at the petro there and my odo had 618km on it and it wasn't in the red yet.. right on top..

I 've been pretty disappointed with the mileage on my 03 WE jetta. I am lucky if I get 420km out of a tank. I have read that it may improve with time, I sure hope so.

i guess its how bad your into the boost.. I shift at 3grand all the time to keep my mileage good and when I actualy watch my boost guage sad to say I'm pretty much always in vacuum and rarely boost past like 5psi.. once I get chipped it'll probably be a different story though..

Last night i filled up - 543km on just over 46L, running 1.8T.
I find Shell gives me the best mileage - whenever I put in Esso or Petro (BTW - exaclty the same type of gas) i struggle to get 500km
But my car always has that shudder problem and when i was letting my turbo cool down last night i needed to grab something out of my trunk took in a lung full of exhaust fumes by accident and it reeked of Sulphur. I went inside the car, could not smell it in the interior (and after having my coils go twice i know how much worse it can be). I wonder if i'll be getting a letter?

I definitely don't shift at 3000. More like 4000-4500 for normal driving. I'm still getting decent gas mileage. 9.06 L/100km is 31.18 mpg UK or 25.96 mpg US. That equates to around 540km per tank (when the light comes on). I think this is pretty normal. I think I will try a tank where I shift at 3000 and see what I get.

I shift at 3 or 4000 rpm pretty much every time and I barely get over 400km per tank before the light comes on. I knew it wasn't good mileage, but compared to you guys it really sucks!!

your maf wouldnt be failing if everyone stuck to a paper filter, the oil from the k&n's and others when it gets onto the vw maf, it destroys them, i'm paper all the way, and not only that, there are dyno's proving no filter beats the current setup on a tdi, lol. hillarious.
