Looking into Picking up an '01 Jetta VR6....(keep in mind car is to be used a winter "beater")

here's where i need some opinions,
    fail code says injectors failing?

does anyone know if these are able to be fixed or how hard it would be?

I heard that it needs a new engine due to this... (i'm unsure of how true that is)

if it isn't able to be fixed, would it be worth it to pick this car up and either put another VR6 in it or even possibly a 2.0? (I know of an MK3 vr6 motor i can get for a couple hundred bucks from a write off, but i don't know if it will work in an mk4)

thanks in advance, and any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers,

Honestly unless you are getting the car for free I think you're better off just to find a cheap running 2.0L, Mk4s don't seem to be worth much anymore. you can sometimes snag a high mileage 12v for very cheap as well

I Can't comment as to whether it will require a new engine due to the fail code however the mk3 12v VR6 and the mk4 12v VR6 aren't exactly the same. ECU, wiring harness, head gasket among other things are different.

I wouldn't really consider it for a swap, there are a ton of them around so finding another one wouldn't be too hard.
