Honestly 7-ish K for a mk4 gti isnt really a smoken deal anymore, esspecially for one with a sketchy history. I would say you are better off finding one on kijiji and go for a private sale.

That thing about the Pennzoil is completely BS. All VW and Audi dealers are told to use Castrol by head office. And if the oil got that sludged only 2 months later, then I can almost be certain that they did not change the oil. I'm surprised you're so cavalier about this. I would rage for sure. And after reading the four links that Cam provided, I would surely stay away from Gallery of Fine Cars.

yea I thought castrol was the only brand certified by vw???? Northland VW uses castrol as well.



Also OP, I can't remember if it was Gallery of fine cars but about a year or so ago a man walked into a car dealership with a gun because he was so angry with the treatment he was given, I am 95% sure it was GOF. Granted the customer was probably a bit off his rocker but to piss off someone that much is saying something...
