so i went on a trip to bc i got home today and found a oil leak i open the hood and oil is everywhere. from the research the pcv fix is a possibilty and the breather tube.

how do i find where the leak is coming from, i'd prefer to do it myself. or should i just get it towed to george.

any ideas, luckily the engine was half full of oil so no damage was done that i can tell and it runs perfect otherwise.

If your car is under warranty it should be no problem.
If you had your oil change done recently i'd check to make sure the cap is on correctly.
Just dont say your car is chipped.

i went to scfc for a different problem and they said they can't do warranty work on the engine because of the chip. i of course made no mention of the chip. oil change was 6000km ago. my guess is head gasket, the oil pipe out the back of the head right where the intake pipe goes down. other than that i don't know.

Its really easy to for a VW technician find out if the car has been chipped. It comes up on the VAS scan tool. If SCFC already knows then hopefully you can go to another dealership that doesn't, and pray its not in their database.

well i got the car to tune dub and he says it's the valve cover it self, not the gasket. i've read up on it doesn't seem like a common problem the gasket is. oh well it should be in safe hands now.
