umm well i'm no expert on it all but I beleive the 710N aka 225TT DV is faster than a forge but can be destroyed but are decent cheap to replace but if you wreck them alot thats kinda lame then
the forge are slower but make more noise and can be rebuilt if you wreck them.. perhaps kris can put in his 2cents

Its strength vs. response time. The 710N works great but if you're chipped you are still running too much boost in it and there is a higher chance of failure. The stronger piston-type DV's will probably never die but respond differently. With forge you can get different springs or shim your spring to make it respond a bit better than it does by default.

So where did you get the DV from? I called C1 and they do not have them. I have a 337 GTI with a 2.5 downpipe, chip, CAI, ABD INTAKE,LOWER INTERCOOLER TUBE. Anything else to help make more power? Thanks Scott

Oh yeah and as Ryan mentioned, the metal DV's make more noise. You can get Forge up in Edmonton at Autobraun. Otherwise you need to order it from the US. I think I paid about $180 for a new 007 from a guy on Vortex.

If you want more power on your 337 you might get it from a cat-back exhaust. The 337 comes with a better exhaust already (I think?), but some aftermarket ones are still less restrictive. The next step is either an intercooler upgrade, a turbo upgrade or a nitrous kit depending on what direction you prefer. Intercooler upgrade will cost at least $900 Canadian new or maybe half of that if you build it yourself. A turbo upgrade would similarly be about $2000 new or half that if you do it custom. A nitrous kit runs about $600.

Thanks for the help. Does anyone have nitrous? If so let me know, sounds like fun! So does DV really help?

DV will help hold the boost better, but it's not going to add more power for ya.

nitrous is kinda silly to run here.. our cars are too fast as it is for city driving unless you speed hella bad.. but it would be kinda cool to use it on a 1/4 mile and go nutso fast but meh I prefer just my good ole k03sport givine me my juice.

Nitrous is a good way to go if you plan on using your car for a lot of drag racing. Its fairly cheap, fairly safe (if used in moderation) and will produce good gains.

However, it will not help you off the track, and in my opinion if you are using nitrous outside the track you are crazy.

If I had it all to do over again, I would have skipped some of the bolt-on parts (chip, downpipe, turbo inlet, DV, etc) and just started with a new turbo. Stealth be damned, a new turbo would be lots of fun.

I also think that the chip wrecks the car quicker.

It looks like C1 will have Forge stuff soon.

Yeah, I think I will. My stock DV honks sometimes. I think I will also get the Forge motormounts and that intercooler looks very appealing.

I have about a 1 to 1.25 inch gap between the wheel and the fender well. I get some scraping after a good snow fall. Otherwise, its not too bad. I'm going in for an alignment on Monday.

I do wish for a winter beater on the shitty days though for sure. On the cold, clear days, driving the Jetta is still a blast.
