    Re: Cheapo Mods

yeah it's a bit tougher than that on our 1.8T's

taking the fuel rail out (with injectors) is a pain. I found it easier to keep them in there....just disconnect the electrical connectors to them.

My install and tips are here:

hopefully they help you out a bit!

I found a temp graph of someone that tested the thing out. I think went back to the difference in temperature, which by my estimate was 3 degrees F, then converting that to Kelvin, you can use gas laws to estimate the degree of which the density of air changes with the temperature.

But that does not however take into account that the manifold will stay colder longer.

A couple posts I read seemed to indicate that the change in temperature was more like 20 degrees F.... also a few people indiciated that the manifold went from 'too hot to touch' to 'cool to the touch' which is pretty unscientific but if true then the change must be more then 3 degrees?

Between hot and cold to the touch HAS to be more than 3 degrees... but I aint no scientist just a Plumber who knows when shat is HOT

Well that is from one run, meaning that the improvement comes through the course of the one run. But it should stay at that level longer.

                          Re: Cheapo Mods

Picked up some bulbs today, should get out and do it in the next little while. The bulbs cost me 3.76 at crappy tire so I can't go wrong.

EDIT Done now, took a little bit of fiddling to get the bulb holder back into the passenger side. But its sweet its worth the money I spent.
