Re: R32 Owner Poll (Or if you know a lot about them)
Winter is out. I have a great year round car that has been rock solid reliable for 11 years since new, as long as it keeps it up I just can't justify selling it.
If the AWD doesn't make that much of a difference in the summer then this makes my GTI decision even easier.
To be honest I was very surprised when my wife was okay with me checking out and maybe buying the R I found. I'm not sure if she did this intentionally (she's not the manipulative type) but with her in agreement I think I was more open to considering the pros and cons, if she immediately disagreed I may have been more defensive and closed minded.
I realize that there are many more features on the R32, aside from performance pieces, that bring it up to a higher trim level but I've lived this long without rain sensing wipers, headlight sprayers etc. I think I blinded myself to the extra expense of an R32 because I was so excited to see they could be brought into Canada, now with that initial excitement gone I'm going to keep things more real... with the money I save I can finally get a new bedroom set, living room furniture and not have to listen to my wife asking for a laptop. Where I'm at financially it doesn't make sense to put that much money into a car so the more economical options have become even more appealing.
I've reached a decision. As far as I'm concerned this thread is closed; however feel free to continue the debate.
Thanks!
