I know it makes it louder but I want to know if its worth it or not... guys on Vortex are doing it with a Remus muffler and sot of a homemade cat back system.... Supposedly sounds like crap on a 24V Vr6 but supposed to growl on a 1.8T... I guees i'll have to do it to find out

I've got one of these right now, mated to my stock muffler and a 2.5"cat+dp. It's a bit louder than stock (wife doesn't complain ) and I've got a buddy with the midpipe mounted to the remus muffler. He loves the sound, but complains it's too quiet for him $69 at the dealership for the midpipe, and I used 2 pipe connectors (from vw) that fit perfectly...$20 a pop.

            Hmmm,

I was reading about the midpipe and all I heard was it just increases sound. Dale just get a real 2.5" turboback.

Because a full 2.5 turbo back system is very loud Qua. Personally I LOVE the stock sound of my car. It's so comfortable.

change your poly mounts, it shouldnt be that harsh, mine feel just like stock.

                  they're energy suspension mounts

poly mounts are death. It was too much for me, so i kept the 'bigger' poly mount and used the smaller stock one (ie. a 'hybrid' dogbone bushing set ) This was substantially better, and got slightly better again after I put the forge ones in.

I'm 100% positive the tdi midpipe gives *some* gains. It's a straight pipe, vs. the stock one which cuts the diameter of the pipe down by 75%! You will definitely get more power with a 2.5" cat-back, but you WILL lose the stock quietness.

I think they are but they have odd hours, and I don't know if they would carry a midpipe just in stock.

I think they are both (Norden/Southgate) open for at least the morning. Norden might be open a little later. I'd be more concerned about Autobraun being open on a saturday in the winter. I'd phone first.
