Well Mike you know about me personally so I cant really argue with you... but as for the mid pipe and Aero wipers its just a friggin car.... a nice car but a car none the less.... and oh ya Mike u have the best posts by far always makein my ass laugh
I'm saying your a crazy mofo cuz I'm thinking about getting aero's and a midpipe too. I was reading on whoretex.... the midpipe might be a good solution before I get my catback.
Is the midpipe useful only if you dont have a downpipe? I have a 2.5" DP but was wondering if a midpipe could still be used.

Why not? That's what I've got right now. It's a step up from going to the stock midpipe!
I've got a tdi midpipe on my 20th AE and I am happy with the results. I would however take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it in place instead of clamping it. I started out having it clamped and it didn't take long before it shock loose and the car sounded like a honda. It cost me $25 to have it welded and now I'm totally happy!

yeah, $20 per clamp!! BUT later on down the road if I ever swap my muffler with ...say...a GLI muffler (straight-through chromed tips! ) I can do it myself without having to cut the welds and get a shop to re-weld everything.
I'm thinking about getting this done. Since right now I have a 2.5" DP going to stock catback. Should I go get the part from VW or just get a muffler shop to do it all? and how big should i get the piping if I just go to a muffler shop.
