    Needed a tow today :(

    Sort of a weird failure. The retainer that holds in one of my injectors broke. I guess this must be a result of my work, because I'm the last guy to have the injectors out last fall. I must have either put the bolt on too tight (which i don't think i did), or the injector was not seated right, and became loose. Guess it doesn't matter now. I think the injector is ok, so I'll just have to replace the retainer. Here's a crappy pic. You can see the points of the 'fork' that holds the injector in place are both broken off.

    Thanks to City wide towing for getting me off of Deerfoot, and Billy's towing for getting my back to my garage.

    yeah, I figured the above was too simple. The injector tip has been hit, and there it visible metal in the combustion chamber at the bottom of the opening for the injector that is stuck to the bottom edge of the hole. This is looking like a large issue.

      We have to pull the head the next few nights, still getting the timing belt off though

        Wow from the first pic I was thinking there was no way a stress fracture from over tightening would have caused that. The jetta is just sitting here waiting to be sold if you need a ride to use for awhile.

          I popped out the glowplug on that cylinder and it has also been nicked.

                      That sucks bro, I've blown my piston, it was number 3 though, and I was pushing a little more torque....lol.

                            either swap or try to get rid of it as is/part the remainder. Not repairable. (well.. not worth trying, IMO - engine swap would make more sense)

                              Looks like the lifter went then the rest of the cylinder followed suit :( I would say look for a replacement engine. PD150 time! Haha it is a shame we don't have any wreckers in town with reasonable prices as that would make your job much easier. I have a TDI motor for you just you have to take the rest of the Jetta with it
