  • Tire Upgrade - 225/45 or 235/40

Just about to order new tires for the Jetta (06 2.0T) but have a quick question regarding sizing.

Should I go with another set of 225/45 17 or switch to a 235/40 or 245/40 tire? I have stock suspension, and for the time being don't plan on lowering the car...maybe next year...but for now I am focusing on another tune, new rubber, and some engine mods.

Also...can i put spacers on the stock 17" rims? I would like the tires to be flush with the fenders....whats the best way to accomplish this? I do plan on Auto x the car as well.

    Thanks

unless you lower the car don't mess around with anything, just run the stock size. last thing you need is to have rubbing issues on stock suspension due to over sized tires and the wheels spaced out.

i would go with the 225/45 again if your just replacing them.
