hey, does anyone know of any killer "everything under the sun" car stereos that would be tight in my mk4?
i'm thinking about switching out the stock one.
budget is not really an issue, i want it to be great.
and i'd like the whole schmear really, ipod, dvd, anti-theft if possible, wireless phone calling... everything under the sun really...
hope that helps!
i do want to put some money into the car itself too... too many choices... too many choices
If budget is not an issue you better start with a good alarm. Come up with a sensible budget and do some research into what you want to get out of the system and build from there. All of the things you listed as pretty standard with most mid to high end decks but you mentioned nothing about what you want from the rest of the system. Do you want new speakers, amps and subs. Do you want it to be so loud you are another one of those "anoying teenagers" or do you want it to sound good? Start with what you want, figure out how that will cost and compromise from there.

ok, i was just hoping on some insight on a deck to start off... like brands and such... then move on to speakers.
Quality is much better than quantity for sure and i've always thought this. i'll definitely want to upgrade the speakers too. no retardo, over the top bass. its not necessary. just really nice quality sound, thats all.
I wasn't trying to be difficult or whatever.
just trying to make conversation on what people dig for new decks...
i have the avic z110bt, and does everything you mentioned above and moar!
right on, i'll check it out.
i had a pioneer in my old truck before she died and really liked it, obviously its all about personal preference. i'll def take a look though. thanks
Yeah the Pioneer Avic series are great. that will be going into my car once I have the money. As for speakers, you cant go wrong with JL C5 component with an amplifier. If you want quality sound, this is for you. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for!

The new JL amps look awesome. I have 4 of the older JL amps myself and have had zero problems with them. I have also had JL subs for 15+ yrs and the quality has never been bad. I think the newest pioneer avic deack looks awesome. One unit I saw had front panel usb and SD spots as well as the normal bluetooth and ipod control.
