Since its an '02, i dont think you will be able to but a TT on. I know that is the case with '02 1.8T's.

        Hi there,

I hope your username isn't in reference to your car's reliability...which salesperson did you buy your car from?

        Take care,

              To answer your "questions" Ian,
yes, my displayed name is about how I feel about my car's electrical system.

              THE RANT STARTS

I am pretty dissapointed with what I got for a $26000 sub-compact car. I actually tell anyone who asks straight out that VW still makes cars that are electrically inferior - a long standing VW tradition.
The only good thing about it is the TDI motor, it makes up for the inferior electronics.

My premium sound system now resides in my trunk taking the bumps and bruises, it seems to work best there (now I don't have as many electrical hiccups). I was disconnecting the battery every month or two to reset the sound system - seems to die about every 5000-6000km, I'm pretty sure it was affecting other systems in the car also.

The last time I brought my car in VW for service (where I purchased the car) it was for a blown speaker. The dealership knew in advance (1 week) of the problem, and could have had a speaker on hand just in case the customer knew what they were talking about. They kept my car for the full day so they could tell me they needed to figure out the model of the speaker was in the door.
Come on you people, you sold me the car, you know what options I ordered from the factory, use that grey matter in your skulls.

It's too bad VWoC? calls a few days after purchase to evaluate user experience. I'd give them an earful now. Oh yes, there's still glue on the car from the delivery (protective paper). What does VW call it : Perfect Delivery Inspection?
I'll stop here, but do have more experiences.

Well anyways I don't think I'll be visiting a dealership any time soon - all 3 in Calgary are about the same.

If you want to know who the dealership was zoom in on the LP trim. [HAHA] You might be able to make it out. salesperson: Gord T.

              END OF RANT

              the second question:
The LP mean "no End" or "no limit" depending on how you translate it.

As far as turbotimers go there is an article at :
              TDI Performance FAQ

I'm not convinced though, since hearing about failing turbos on TDIs.
