  • MKIV Jetta Hella ecode headlights

Just wondering if anyone can verify if these part numbers are for genuine VW Hella ecode headlights:

    1J5 941 015 BC (left)
    1J5 941 016 BC (right)

Have seen some really cheap Chinese knockoffs and I am a firm believer of you get what you pay for.

hey, don't know if I can help because I don't have ecodes to verify but when I searched ecs the hella ecodes had a part number which after the 1J5 it was 698*** where as all the US spec ones were 941 after the 1J5 like the number you provided. I also googled that product number and the first result that came up was an excel spreadsheet of an online company's inventory.

      1J5698001BG

Thats the real number for Euro Spec Jetta lights.

Edit: btw how much are the ones you are looking at?

      They should be around 500/set

The part# number you supplied is this: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...ghts/ES523253/

The others I have seen are these: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...ng/Headlights/

Which I suspect are US Spec with the poor beam pattern. There are some other aftermarket ones that are in the $500 range but how do I really know if they have the proper Euro Spec beam pattern????

If you want Genuine OEM Euro Spec Headlights then they will be made by Hella.

Any other company that makes Euro Spec Headlights are selling "fakes" in a sense. They will have Euro Spec beam pattern, they just wont be genuine OEM.

It all depends what you are after. If you got money and want the best product on your vehicle then Hella Euro Spec is where its at. If you are just after the Euro Spec beam pattern and want better light output then go with a Euro Spec headlight made by another company.

Seems that ECS Tuning carries MKIV Jetta headlights (H4) with fogs (H3) that made by Hella. You can choose NA or Euro spec.

Anyone ever order from ECS Tuning?
