I'm thinking about going APR or REVO for my tiptronic if its available. Upsolute was a nice fix but I want some better features. And the horsepower on upsolute chips are seem too low (DAMN IT)
REVO REVO REVO.. see well here is the thing about the revo and why i'm trying to get more people to do it.. the SPS switchers are not car specific so if 3 of us all get the software then split the cost on the 500$$ SPS3 well more like 425 now with out dollar but anyways we can all use it to our tuning pleasures instead of everyone owning one but i guess complications can occur about who gets it,etc i dunno
Im very interested for sure! I like upsolute but they never release anything new. Their programming isnt aggressive. Where the hell is Boyracer to argue me?? =)

Still, here. I just think that everyone is entitled to make their own choices on which chip product they go for. After all, it is just that, a choice.
I am not sure you will get what you are looking for with another chip if it is just HP. Ryan will help us get this straight when he gets one of the others dynoed but Kor's numbers are looking pretty respectable so far. In fact, I think he has done a good deal of research on the subject of dynos with different brands of ECU upgrades.
Features however, yes, there are some pretty nice loady/switchy ECU upgrades out there. Currently Upsolute does not really have products aimed at this market so if this is what you want, I would tell you myself that you need to get an ECU upgrade from one of the other tuning companies.
So, here is what I can offer you:
The latest version. It is much smoother (we thought it was less powerful because Peters car reacted badly to it however we found out later that it was just his BOV)
A 94 Octane version.. Kor, if you still want to try his, I have your file already done.
A custom version.. for which we need a dyno run with Air/fuel plots.
It would be nice if I could keep you as a happy customer but I have no problems with people who choose other product than Upsolute.

You did a great Job....am very happy with the performance so far.

Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny.
thanks simon yea I have nothing against UP I just wanted something different from everyone else along with new technology (SPS) from my reading on vortex people have good/bad experiences with every chip.
Hmmm I have thought about the 94 octane program... but I haven't been getting the 94 octane gas so I am heasitant. If more stations had it then I would do it for sure...
I do not consider the N75 valve a performance modification. It does not add performance. It was not designed as an aftermarket, performance increasing part. Someone discovered that it can be helpful to some people because it can reduce surging and smooth out the boost curve. This was totally LUCK. In my opinion it only does this well when you do small modifications from the stock configuration (like just a chip). If you start doing other modifications that can effect the wastegate (exhaust) or boost pressure (TIP, CAI, Aggressive chip, MBC, etc) then the N75 can and will do as much harm as good. Even if its doing good, you might later add another mod to your car - and suddently the N75 is no longer doing the right thing.
People change their N75 because is has a particular effect, but many people do not understand why it causes this effect. There is a very mechanical process that regulates the turbocharger. Pressure goes to the wastegate, it opens. Pressure is removed from the wastegate, it closes. This is what controls your boost.
Lets say there is a picture on the wall, and it was hung so that it is slightly crooked. You nudge it with your finger, and suddenly its straight. Nice work! But that same nudge will not cure all crooked pictures. You might be nudging it too softly next time. Or too hard. Or in the wrong direction. The N75 is a generic "poke" that changes the pressure and application of that pressure to the wastegate by a SET amount. If you boost is off by that SAME amount then it will be beneficial.
Therefore I cannot say that the N75 will make a positive difference on the dyno. It is not made to increase your performance. It is a total FLUKE that on some cars it will help surging and improve horsepower. On another car, it might make things even worse. Lots of people say "I got another 2psi out of my N75 valve". The psi reading on your boost valve is not a performance indicator, it is a pressure indicator! That is like saying "look my engine temperature went up 10 degrees, I must be going faster".
Okay that is the end of my rant. but maybe someone will get something out of it.
