  • Golf Vs. Mini

What a good day Wednesday was!!

First off I ended school at around noon and then I went around town listening to the Beatles CD and I thought, "Hey, why not go to Northland VW and look at the Jetta and Golf." So I make my way down there and jump in the Jetta first and DAMN!!! Compared to my 86 Jetta it is pretty nice (compared to anything it is pretty nice :yahhh: )

After I play around with the stuff inside and feel the leather, I jump in the Golf and even though it is the basic of the basic it still is real damn nice. As I am only 18, I figure that I wouldn't be able to test drive a car until I am older. Good thing is that this isn't true so I go and test drive the 2.0L Golf CL and it was a blast. Even though I couldn't really "DRIVE" it, it still kicked ass!!

After that I went to Crowfoot and test drove a Mini Cooper Classic. Man it was pretty cool and all but the actual driving experience wasn't that much fun. The steering was probably the worst because it was such a chore to actually turn the vehicle.

By the time of the end of next summer, I will have enough to buy a 2000+ Golf with a few extras so now I really can't wait because I have driven it and now I know why you guys love em so much.

I am gonna probably go test drive the Jetta sometime next week to see how much of a difference it is from my Jetta!!
    Man, VAG kick ass!!

I think the Mini is disgusting on the inside. A speedo (or is it the tach, I foget) the size of a dinner plate. And I'm not a huge guy but I still felt cramped.

Not much diff driving a Jetta vs a Golf - same chasis and everything.

You just made me realize how fast my 2.0L is. Today I wasted a Mk4 TDI with my Mk3 2.0L.

One time driving around 10:00 on crowchild some girl with a Mini (non S) raced me with my 1.8T. It was fun doing circles around her. :mrpimp:

The name "mini" gives you a sense of something small, not worthy, incapable. In a Psychological view point it will hinder your performance in bed, work and everything. You might even consider suicide.

        Therefore mini = crap.

        Jk

i dont know about you guys, but i would trade my golf in for a second for a mini cooper S.

it'd have to be white with the huge sunroof, slammed to the ground on 19" or 20" rims, and super dark tint. that **** would look so ****** fine!

From what I understand the mini's are somewhat roomy. My cousin had one in the UK before he moved here and he is above average at 6'2' and thick as a brick. Still I think minis are like fat chicks, they are fun until your buddies see you with one.

Minis are pretty cool, but isnt a loaded cooper s like nearly 40gs after tax and all that?

Nice car but I would take a 20ae with change left over.

Well I got to test drive the mini and I found it so much fun. It was like a little go-kart and it had just a fun factor to it that not mny cars have. The interior is awesome and there are so many options for the mini it is insane. My only beef was the back seat space...or lack there of it. Mini's from when I looked where 30k with some decent options...the cooper S was 35k

                            Re: Golf Vs. Mini

pleeze. the mini is one pimp ride.

i work at a cowell motors here in vancity, and i've driven all the new jettas, gtis, passats, touregs, range rovers, a4,s4, a6, a8, TT, range/land rovers, jags xjr, x/s-types...(DAYAM, i've driven lots)

point is...i think the mini handles awesome, like its on rails compared to alot of these cars. looks sweet, but just a tad pricey.
why tiptoe through life, only to arrive safely at death?
