  • Suspension Question?

Thought I would get some advice.
Was thinking of getting the FK Hi-Tec Suspension Kit that comes with matched spring and stuts for my Golf Tdi.
Is this a good move or should I go with the upgrade and get the Coilovers?

It all depends on what you want, the coils would be nice because of adjustability, if all you want is a nice drop, nothing really low then the kit is fine for you.

Its a pretty good kit for the price.

Only get coils if you plan on going super-low in the summer.

Yep, git the coilovers if you need the adjustability and not afraid of the extra maintanance that goes with them.

Sucks to find yourself stuck at a really extreme ride height because of corroded threads.

install will be about 3-3.5 hours thats what it was for my bilstein and H&R race install.. extra maintenance with coils is you should get the threads lubed or sprayed or whatever to make sure they dont' get corroded and seize on your other than that not too much.. use C1.. they are local give em your business they are the only dub store here so ya gotta make em stay up.. they are great guys whenever i've brought my car in they plastic wrap the seats, etc northland dont' even do that

I am going to get coils as I want my car pretty low in the summer, plus the wheel gap on mk3s is big enough to stick your head in!

The only thing I am deciding on is whether to get dampening adjustable coils or not?

I'd say get the adjustable ones if you can afford it.

TDi-Steve, I think you'll be happy with your choice. Suspension upgrade is one the first things to do with the mk4s. My GTI felt like a softly sprung marshmallow before I got my KWs.

Damping adjusting coilovers allow you to cornerweight your car, right? Anyone ever done this?
