1990 MK2 jetta battery light

I was driving DF today and i noticed my Light was on faintly but would almost go out then get brighter... After a while it turned off as i was going faster trying to get home just in case i was going to break down...

But as i slowed down turning into my house area going about 60KM it started to happen again... Anyone have any ideas ???

I checked to see it all my belts were tight and they are... It also comes on when i Rev it up too. But then goes out.... when its back to 900RPM ish

Alternator could be starting to go. Are there any signs of wear on your belts? It could be a loose ground too.

No the belts look good....

If there a way to check the alternator to know if its on the way out ??

Multimeter works wonders. Check your grounds from your battery and starter as well.
