  • Revo programming opinions...

Just found out a local dealer to me does Revo Technik upgrades...which is a huge plus for me as the nearest APR or UNI dealer is close to 3 hours away. So after speaking to him, I have considered trying out the Revo upgrade. He said Stage 1 is just software, but stage 2 they recommend changing the DP.

The reviews seem positive, and lots of people say its the most "torque responsive" tune they have had...

Any experiences with Revo?? How does it compare to the other tuning giants (APR, UNI, etc...)???

Revo is alright, but I don't have anything to compare it to.

But get a downpipe/ full exhaust.

Put a cold air intake. And a full turboback exshaust. And you will notice a huge diff. Oh ya. Get the stage 2.

2.0T 06 Jetta. And from what I have heard there is not a HUGE difference from 1 -2 stage upgrades....however they recommend a upgraded downpipe for stage 2....

            Re: Revo programming opinions...

Revo, APR, GIAC, etc are all so similar - go with the one who can offer you the best shop support. If Revo is the only one carried by someone in Med Hat, go with them. If anyone else tells you any differently that APR is sooo much better than Revo or Revo kills it compared to GIAC they are full of SH!T and are nothing more than a sac-rider for whatever program they ended up buying for their car.

As for stage 1 vs stage 2 - Stage 2 is just programmed slightly more aggressive - it's designed to work with downpipes (or full exhaust and intake - i can't remember for sure), so if you don't have that, get a stage 1. If you do have an exhaust then get stage 2. Just don't get a stage 2 if you don't have the exhaust b/c the software is not designed to run with a stock exhaust... Just like how you wouldn't get stage 3 software on an otherwise stock car b/c it's designed to run with bigger injectors, a bigger turbo, etc.
