  • ATTN ALL CALENDAR CARS

Time is running short for us to do the pictures for the calendar. Peter would still like to set up a time to do a group shot but in order to get this thing going, we need to get started on pictures. We have decided that if anyone would like their done soon (before the winterization occurs) they can let me know and we can go out and do them as soon as we can work out a time. I have done Simon's already so we still have 11 cars to go. Please post here and give me your thoughts on this.

If if you're going to always wait until your next mod is installed, no one will get theirs done. I used to get a new mod every couple weeks on my old golf and if I wanted to wait till I was done, the calendar would be for the year 2006.

        [Anybody Around...?]
Here's my pic's, Mel. I'd appreciate your (anyone's for that matter) thoughts on whether they're good enough (resolution, scenery, cleanliness of car [Hmm] , etc...) and which one to use. I'm not sure I have a preference on which to use, so I'll leave it to the court of public opinion...

Also, I photoshopped one to look like a painting. I think it's neat, but it may not "go" with the theme of the calendar. If it does, or if anyone wants me to PS a pic, drop me a line or post here!

They were taken using a Canon S30 (I think?) at 3.1 MPixel resolution (2048x1536).

Thanks for the compliment. You're looking south at Barrier Lake in Kananaskis Country...

Digital is a lot better than film because I have found with film that in order to get really great pictures onto a computer, you need to scan the negative and not the actual picture...it's a pain. If you have access to a digital camera, a resolution of 3 megapixels or higher would give you a pretty decent shot. And take a lot of different pictures from a lot of different levels and angles. Sorry I can't make it out to Edmonton, I would have love to help you out with this. Any other questions, let me know.

                      Peter,
Would the shots that you took of my car be okay? I haven't done anything else to the car other than boost gauge since then (though it is a sweet looking gauge which I would love a pic of). If not, Mel, when it's a nice day out, we can hook up for a shoot. Just let me know if you still have the pics are not Peter. I can send them to you.

Thorin- Come out to the meet on the 26th, we can do any pics that need to be taken then. Hopefully we'll have nice weather and I'll do a good one of your gauge.

I'm still in... I won't be able to make the meet on the 26th, but I'll snap a few pics of my car this weekend. Too bad it's snowing right now. My cam does 2.1 megapixels.

Otherwise I can borrow a better camera but that won't happen til after the long-weekend.
