  • Looking for ideas on interior mods

    Hey all, I'm just looking for some ideas on interior modifcations. I just bought aluminum center console pieces and aluminum defroster rings. I'm also picking up the Bora sport edition shifter and the W8 panel. I want to get the aluminum vent pieces as well as the door handles.
    Is the OEM kit my only option? and if so, can you pick up the pieces seperately?
    Any other interior ideas would be appreciated. I think I'm getting modder's block:mrlaugh:

    well on VWvortex there is a guy that makes real carbon fiber pieces. I think Ryan has made a post about it on here so check that out. His stuff is high quality and it looks amazing. BTW, where did you get those aluminum defroster rings???

      Yeah, I saw that post on the 'Tex. Looks pretty cool. But I've always been a sucker for aluminum.
      The defroster rings are from Landspeed USA.....

      I'm planning on pulling the grills and painting them with aluminum paint to color match them.

                Mine - in order:

                - Removed airbag stickers
                - Illuminated Reiger Knob
                - Chopped Shifter
                - Monster mats
                - Euroswitch
                - Sunglasses holders
                - W8 Mod with custom dial
                - APillar Gauge pod.
                - Blue led interior

                With the exception of my sparco pedals and beetle S dead pedal (haven't bothered installing yet) I'm done for interior. Maybe an E-Brake handle if one jumps out at me.

                For all you late bloomers looking to get the W8 panel - I tell yah it's the single most classy upgrade you can do. Even the buttons/switches are 100 times better. And more/better lighting. I'd do it even if I didn't have a sunroof and if it didn't light up.

                  I was going to remove the airbag stickers too, but now I think I'll just stick this over it........hahaaa

                  Yeah Khyron, I agree with you on the W8 panel. It's the one interior mod I'm really looking forward to doing.

                      it's damn cool. Don't forget the blue LED in the dial:

                      http://www.ottawa-vdubbing.com/info/...ps/blueled.htm

                      It takes all of an hour to do, and cost $5 for the LED, but by far it gets the most comments on my otherwise stock interior

                      How do you go about removing the airbag stickers??

                        I have the votex aluminum dask kit in my Passat. I'll be looking for a leather 3-spoke steering wheel in the future if somebody's gonna be selling. :;

                          that looks not bad for being the stick on one (correct me if i'm wrong)
                          flanders to remove the airbag stickers you need rubbing alcohol and a bunch of really clean rags you soak some rag with the alcohol then start to rub the sticker it basically eats/loosens it up and you rub the whole thing off.. then use some sort of vinyl protector and wipe the whole panel with it to protect it againl.. umm wait for the excess alcohol to dry first though.. shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to do both..

                            That's a nifty little mod. But in keeping with VW's interior lighting theme, the dial light should be red.

                            Red = Action functions
                            Blue = Information functions
