  • Warning about Brullen exhausts...

I just got a replacement 2.5" dp+cat from Brullen...and couldn't help but notice that the CAT is on backwards?!?

Check out the arrow...shouldn't this be pointing in the direction of gas flow?

If any of you guys have gotten one of these recently, check it out...

I really don't know if this matters or not.

Are cat's unidirectional?? (i'm not sure why there'd be an arrow on it otherwise...) :mrsly:

    to conclude:

Brullen engineers say that the catalyst is loaded right in the middle of the cat, and it doesn't matter at all which way the 'arrow' points on the outside of it. They try to make it point downstream just so they don't get people like me calling them up, but it really doesn't make a difference with this type of cat

I agree -- actually, this 'new' downpipe has a leak in it too.

        *sigh*

that's 2 of them I've got with leaks.

are you gonna send it back or just spot weld it? How do you tell if a leak exists? sounds funny?

I could hear the first one go pfft pfft pffft pffft pffft very rapidly when I was 'in' boost.

The new one doesn't have this sound, but the 'whistle' isn't 'smooth' in boost. It sounds nervous Plus, my mechanic who installed the new one said he can see and feel the exhaust leak against his hand when his co-installer rev'ed the engine.
