Recently I read some stupid threads that the poster is try to promote a non-safe manner to drive the car on the road. They just want to DRIFT, OK. Nothing wrong with that since doing one or two hardcore moves not going to get you killed or your car tip over. What I found the problem is the missing link of understanding on how the car functions provide, namely the ESP. Those functions exist because of #1.make more use of the engine output and #2.help people with lack of basic knowledge about driving techniques. I think the driving technique is in fact missing here.
When you upset the balance of the car then the ESP will try to correct it. You do not need to pull the e-brakes to trigger that. The ESP is capable to make the correction of the control up to a certain limit. Once beyond the limit is all leave to you to make the correction and usually too late. True racers dislike those electronics because they are having too much involvement on how the car control. Usually the electronics will only slow you down, and this is the false feeling that the car is being under control. I am very curious why you discovered the ESP mystery until now but not in the summer time when the road is clear.
The favorite line between racers:
“If you think your car is under control, you’re going slow.”
