  • Time for a suspension upgrade

Is anyone running Koni Reds or Yellows? What springs should I match with them. VR6 OEM? Dunno???

If anyone has a better suggestion on springs & dampeners post it. I really don't want a huge drop just better daily performance than the stock TDI suspension that is getting really tired.

I have GTI OEM shocks and springs if you're interested. I'd recommend different shocks though as even the GTI ones are pretty soft. I went with an FK cup kit but it's probably a little lower than you want. I would definitely look into the position sensitive damping from koni as well. They will give you a soft ride but stiffen up when needed. They work ideally with stock to slightly lowered ride height. http://www.koni-na.com/fsd.cfm

The days are numbered on my OEM setup... however, not sure what the compatibility between an .:R and a Jetta is... if at all. Doh!

I put Konis with Eibach springs in my 97 2 1/2 yrs ago and they ride great.

I wouldn't go coil overs if you want a subtle drop and only a little stiffer than stock. Think spring and shock combo, not coils. That said, I've heard a ton of good things about the k-sports. I just think you'll find them too stiff. All aftermarket shocks will be a noticeable improvement over stock, then pick the springs that give you as much drop as you're looking for.
