MKV GTI Front License Plate Holder

Does anyone else have an ugly license plate holder on the front of their GTI? I was thinking about removing it, but I know it's going to leave a few (I believe 4) holes in the shiny black grill. Anyone tried this before? Found a good cosmetic fix? Maybe suggest a nice plate for the front instead of removing the holder?

I'd honestly prefer to have nothing there. I really like the clean look on the front, especially on the GTI

If you're good at painting just bondo, sand and paint. Or you could just buy a new one, they aren't too expensive. I bought mine at the dealership for $130 then sold my rock chipped one. All that's holding it in place is 4 screws, takes a few mins to replace it.
