My blizzak's are amazing, this morning I blew through traffic without any fear of sliding around. On halloween night I was out and about, I couldn't make the car slide even on the worst ice!

The LM-22's don't have as much traction capability as the rest of the Blizzak line, but at least they are rated to 200 km/h.

Man if you cant make your car slide you suck at making cars slide. ;p On the worst ice even the best snow tires have very little traction, you'd need studded tires for that kind of thing.

Right on. Did you install them yourself Dale with the junk in the trunk? Some guy on Vortex told me that I will/could screw up my brake rotors unless I used a torque wrench to properly torque the lug nuts. I was planning on doing it myself with the VW jack in the trunk. What does everyone think about that?

I've got a torque wrench if you wanna borrow it.

I don't think you can get enough torque outta that piece of crap in the trunk to torque it to spec. (88 ft*lb)

I think you must be able to cause you have enough torque to get it un done. just throw some weight behind it. If anyone wants to use my garage with a nice floor jack your welcome to do so. I also have an air wrench which makes changing the tires a 10 min job.

but maybe some rain tires would be good.

Thanks for the offers Neil and Nick, but unfortunately I can't drive my car anywhere on Pilot Sports so I can't pick up the torque wrench or use the garage. I think I'll just He-Man them on there for now so I can at least drive somewhere... and if I'm still worried about it I'll maybe take you up on your offer nick and just remove and reinstall my wheels to the proper torque. I'm sure I won't wreck my car in just a few hundred km... VW must make that kit ok if they expect you to change a tire with it. No?

Honestly, it still boggles my mind how some people will cheap out on winter tires. With my all seasons I couldnt make it up a hill, with my winters I can climb and icy tree. With winters, you have a higher chance of protecting yourself, the others around you and most importantly your car

paul you need more patience and more winter practice then.. so far my jetta has been a damn tank this year.. the huge hill coming into rocky ridge was pure ice the other day i went up without seeing the ESP light flash.. and no not doing 20/hr

but yes winters are a huge improvement most of my buddy's rock winters and swear by them for when the weather is welll look out side cuz tommorow were gonna have 2 feet :P

LOL I don't need winter practice. I am very in favor of winter tires, and it is proven that they are 10x better than all seasons.

Yeah seriously why spend all the money on other mods when winter tires very well could save a life. The time you need them is when you wish you had them
