If you wanted to go WIDE to really make it flush then yes... there is definitely more room to go. You could probably go almost another 20mm to make it perfectly flush in the rear. However, you might have rubbing issues depending on what suspension/rims/tires you are running. For me, I just wanted to give the .:R a proper look without going too much. In fact... the rears with the Aristos are pretty much identical to the fronts now in terms of fender/tire placement.

I know. Sorry. Really wanted to get some fatter rims/tires for the rear but then I started adding it all up and figured the $90 USD spacers were a more cost-effective option/compromise. For now, I'll save my money for "Go" options down the road and cheap out on the "Show" options.

Not really. I have been eyeing up the Koni FSD kit however, when it comes to suspension, I'm a total newb. Not interested in slamming my .:R or anything like that. If anything, just a simple kit to tweak the handling characteristics of the .:R, perhaps give her a slight/minimal drop without sacrificing any ride quality. With that said, not sure if I should consider a suspension upgrade or just save my money for something else?

Well if you rock more 'go' goodies, you are going to need some wide skins, for it to hook.

          Looks good Rob.

I run 20's in the rear on my .:R with both my winter Aristos and my new summer wheels without any trouble; definitely makes the car look better!!

Yes, I definitely read a number of posts on the Vortex that mentioned this exact fact. However, since I'm still on stock height. No worries!

Sweet! Isn't the .:R lowered now too Rob? And still no issues with the spacers?

Rob has the same set up as I do (PSS9's) with 20 mm spacers and no rubbing at all!

From Achtuning out of Washington. The spacers are a bolt-on hubcentric style spacer that includes bolts (ie. spacers bolt to hub, wheel bolts to spacer as opposed to having longer wheel lugs with a spacer inbetween). Was one of the few places where I could find this type.

Unfortunately... shipping is a b*tch! So of course... I decided to get a Carbonio intake as well to justify the shipping.

How much would you say the drop is on the .:R now? Either that... or the old "how many fingers" between tire and fender?

I'm measuring about 3 fingers with stock height and wouldn't mind cutting that in half however, completely mystified as to what road to take? Still leaning towards the Koni FSDs with perhaps the Eibach Pro Springs as I want to retain some comfort while installing a Ronco "Set it and forget it" style system..

Mines a tight 2 fingers in the rear (he he). As far as comfort goes, you should really go for a drive in either mine or robs car. The PSS9's ride amazingly well. Definately no loss in comfort!

dont mean to thread jack, but i got aristos on the jetta and was looking at getting some 17mm spacers for the rear, but it looks like you a little room still with the 20mm does the golf have a wider read end or is it the same as the jetta, cus if i will get the same results as you with 20's il just buy 20's and not try to hunt down 17mm

Just get 20's. My GLI had 20's with stock RC's (same width and offset I believe) and it was fine!

Here are some different pics of the new look. Only issue is... the more I look at it... the more I want it dropped!
Don't get me wrong... I love my SUV look when there is snow on the ground but now... something just looks off?
