Anyone just give me a quick info dump on GIAC.
Looking at the wibblyweb it looks like its just another chip flash like APR but i thought you had to have a tuner in your cockpit to set it up yourself as well. Am i miles out on that one? anyone?

That being said you can always tweak it yourself with lemmiwinks (APR and GIAC)

      Re: GIAC confusion

Correct, most newer vehicles are flashable through the OBD port. Some older vehicles have to be bench flashed outside the vehicle and others have to be sent direct to GIAC or have a phsyical chip installed. None of them require any sort of tuner or modification in vehicle. The only handheld offered and supported by GIAC is their handheld flash loader allowing you to change between pump gas, race gas, valet, kill, etc.. modes with the push of a button but it isn't a tuner and no other changes can be done to the programming itself.

Ahh then that must have been what i was thinking of. Is that flash loader an additional module that you would have to plug in to the diagnostic socket then? (unlike the APR thing where you can use a combo of control stalk switch n buttonts to change setups)

        Thanks Guys

Yes, that's correct. The only flashloader I know of that will let the customer do any sort of tuning themselves (boost, timing, etc) at all is Revo's select plus

You are correct about GIAC, plugs into OBD port and you hit one button to change the tune on the vehicle, then unplug and drive away.
