i ran a 12.01 with a 2,500 rpm launch (Cause i had to drive the car back 2800 km to calgary so i was being safe) and dyno'd 427

fast time! at sea level im assuming?

elevated above terrace bay ontario is the abandoned airport they hold that 4 day event at. it's ~250 meters (820 ft); very close to sealevel.

i was pleased with the time. i wanted to launch at a higher rpm but i feared not making it back to calgary. i was also warned by track "officials" after the 12.01 that i would be banned for not having a fire suit and roll cage if i broke into the 11's. which i could have done with a higher launch.

it was quite an amazing weekend. it's a redneck hick fest with barn built racecars. lots of gutted nova's with open headers and huge slicks running 12 and 13's. nobody knew what an "audi" was, i think they thought it was an olympic car. and when i pulled up on my 19" tsw mallory's with cheap-o low profile rubber and full interior ac, gps, leather.... everyone laughed..... until i ran a 12 something lol

when i arrived at tech to sign-in, they told me i should enter modified (14-15 seconds). i laughed and said "okay" and ran a 12.5

You should definitely be able to launch higher then 2500! I think for that clutch in the range of 4-5500 is yhe best bet! Get all four spinning!

We should get a few of us to hit up Race City this summer for comparison..

i would join for sure, who knows, by then i could still be almost stock or stage 3! who knows!

It looks like the guy stomped on the brake pedal, got the rear end off the ground, and still managed an under 10 sec. pass. Eff me thats a fast little bunny!

yep, pretty insane to pull off those numbers after a mistake like that. However I believe its a Polo, not a bunny.

Dude mis-shifted from second to first and the motor was so well built, it dragged the rear end up on the "Engine Breaking". I guess that motor is pretty indestructable

Must be a fun car.

I ran a 12.9 @ 109 last year the first run in my vrt gti at castrol last summer. I sold the car to a co worker and he is not the track kinda guy, it has a baby seat in the back of it now. Haha
