  • BEST drive to work evurrr!! please post your stories!

hehe I got stuck TWICE!! in my own place hahaha backing out of my garage i was treated to a 3foot high drift that I had to ram backwards to get out of my driveway then I got stuck on another drift driving which I got out of in about 10 seconds with a quick reverse 1st gear rock (ESP off of course) and i was set for the funniest morning rip!
it took me 30 minutes to get from rocky ridge to 16 ave!!! nobody would go above 40km/hr i did about 50ish and an S4 was booming along with steelies doing like 70 passing people kinda crazy:mrsly:
16 wasn't any better roads were pretty slick.. i left ESP on all morning and had no issues getting out of things or get going i should say.

everyone post thier first dump experiences

ps.. amazing people drove nice compared to usual calgary drivers who think they all have 4x4s.
oh being lowered didn't hinder driving that much although I am going to invest in some mudflaps for the winter so i don't kill my paint.. cheers

Well, I made it part way to work, but getting up 10th st. was a bit interesting, then I had trouble getting through the 10th st/16ave intersection, then got stuck in the Starbucks parking lot (gotta have my Starbucks!!) then heard on the radio that the Mcknight bridge over deerfoot was a sheet of ice (that's the way I take to work). Then my g/f called and said Memorial was travelling at 20-30kms/hr!!(my alternate route), so I figured since I have my laptop and can work from home that I would give up (especially since everytime I touched the brakes my ABS came on (which almost NEVER comes on) so I knew it was crazy slippery. But I pride myself in trying:mrlaugh: a lot of people didn't even leave their houses this morning.

      Hehe good times.

I started off at around 6:30 and got to SAIT at about 8:30. I never got stuck but had alot of fun in the Brentwood parking lot doing donuts (that added about 5 min ).

My 86 had no problem getting through the snow drifts. It may not have the power and I have really crappy tires but at least I can go to school and my friend, who has a 97 Eclipse GSX. He probably can't even get out his garage.

Oh well I get off school at 12 noon today and maybe I'll use the snow to my advantage and have tons of fun!!!

Well my office is normally a 15 min drive from home, today it took over 1.5 hours. The Jetta has MFA and so my average speed to work was 14km/h nice!!! The jetta was great though, the ABS never even came on once, she handled the icey side streets great, even with the Goodyear all seasons. There where many people sideways backwards and the like on my route, and saw only one accident. A lot of people seem unprepared for this as I saw lots of mustangs and stuff still with there performance wheels and tires.

Most people seemed to be in a good mood though, which makes things much better. Lets face it everyone is late today so do not rush!!!

*copy and paste job from another thread*

Yeah, I got stuck trying to get out of my driveway today. So I dug it out and parked it. I had someone come pick me up. Maybe it was the type of snow (the wet hard packed kind), but I was slippin' and slidin' like a mofo.

Stupid me had to take the car to the dealership at 9am. I left my house at 7:15 and made it by 9:30! My tires are so bald I can barely get enough traction to get started if I stop. Plus I was plowing all kinds of snow with my front valence... HORRIBLE!

aside from the ploughing, using the plastic sound dampener under my car, i went from my house to the university, in about 25 mins, just as long as it would have taken me in the summer, lol.

these blizzaks, omg, who dares to compare? people driving beside me were freaking out i was going the *speed limit*.
