You obviously don't know Bart well because every hp and fraction of a second does matter to him

I have heard the manual transmission are actually becoming theft deterrents because more and more people cannot drive them, and that includes people jacking cars!

One thing about vw dealers not budging (much) on new cars would'nt this help resale?

i couldnt do a dsg...for me it takes away the connection from the road and driving one seems boring, whereas a manual keeps u involved at all times and in my opinion, its def more fun!

They all have launch control. I found DSG lots of fun with the flexibility to be lazy when I wanted to. Best of both worlds. I couldn't really tell a difference in being any more or less connected to it or the road compared to all the manual cars I've owned.

                I work for Norden...

There's a pretty good sales group over here. If you come to Norden I would recommend talking to Phil N-W, JP, or Sean. It would save you a trip to Calgary and you still need to get service work done locally so why not give Norden a shot?

                Just a suggestion..

BTW, I also have a GTI on order at the moment..

When you buy a new car can you only get warranty work done where you bought it? Geofux post has be confused as I have never bought a new car.

I think he just means you are probably not going to drive to Calgary every time for service/warranty work so maybe you should give your local dealer a chance as you may need to use them in the future.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Looks like the VW dealers aren't bad people, maybe my experience visiting some of the other ones tainted my perspective. Either way, I'm going to wait on the MK6 - just too tempted to go get something from the US and do a nice road trip at the same time. Will come back to the MK6 when the 'shelves are little more full'

If you know exactly what you want then email a bunch of dealers and see who's hungriest. But honestly with a car that's selling out there's not much chance - why discount when they can sell it for sticker to the next guy in line.

I was hoping to see some movement on an new s4 but not a chance in hell. Paying just sticker is considered a win.

Now a non-beige Toyota Camry might have some movement. Or a nice Dodge Avenger.

I feel you can get a hell of a deal on a 'yota right now.

                            OVER-USED.

I managed to get some budge on my Jetta, but I have a feeling that was very specific to my requests in what I wanted on the car.
