    Hey Guys,

    I was just wondering if anyone has colored their rearviem mirrors black and how you went about doing so or what you guys think the best way to do it is?

        The housing or the glass? The one on the windshield, or the ones in the doors? And.....um....why?!?

          i think he means the plastic.. like the MK4 v2 glis and 20th annis had no? if you wan to tint the glass just buy an audi auto dimming one

            Rotate the mirror clockwise until its vertical then pull from the top side and it will pop out. Paint. Enjoy.

            Instructions for auto-dimming but if you don't have it then it will be much easier:

                Rotate the mirror base clockwise 90 degrees and then it should just pop off. I cleaned mine with some type of solvent (forget) and taped the glass off with painters tape. Then I sanded with ~800grit and cleaned the mirror again. I hung it in my garage using wire so I could spray it from all angles and I used Krylon black paint because it's not super glossy.

                      Forgot to mention that I used adhesion promoter before I sprayed the mirror black.
