vacuum leaks under the manifold are prone for 1.8t's. usually the hoses deteriorate and cause leaks, check engine lights, etc... they can be pricey to repair. the motor is strong. never ever done or seen a head gasket issue with one. just like any car, maintenance is key.

all mk4's have door latch issues and turn signal switch issues so it doesn't matter which model you buy.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

good to know about the leaks/etc.

that kijiji link is LITERALLY 5 blocks from my house. creepy. will call.

Never use kijiji out here, it's not as popular as craigslist, so i forget to check on it. thanks for the link. looks nice.

Depends if you want easy and possibly temporary fix or expensive permanent fix. Most of the time, you need to replace your signal arm. cost = $220. I chose the easy temporary fix, bought a bottle of electrical contact cleaner and sprayed it in certain places. its been about 2 months since and its never made that annoying noise again! even if I have to do this every 6 months, I still think its easier to do this for $7 than replace the whole signal arm.

Not bad. New air suspension for allroad was gonna run me probably 3g's.. so.. i'll take a fucked latch and a blinker arm.

the contact cleaner worked on my car and Patryks, so most of the time it will work...if all else fails, then replacing the arm is the way to go.

vm full? damn must be getting a lot of calls on that jetta then lol, e-mail him or txt

haha, email option is on the right. not used to kijiji.

see what kind of replies i get from some of the other options i've looked at as well. looking to keep it under 10g's, but willing to stretch on a better car.

blue jetta called back, buyer backed out. apparently ICBC doesn't value smashed 2003 GLS 2.0L cars at 10 g's. ICBC probably gave the buyer like 6 max.

there is nothing baller about vr6 . .... they are slow and crappy . 2.0 is a great car .
no autos (that goes for all mk4) Cheap to fix ... i dont know about that , still has door latches, window regulators, wheels bearings, timing belt, waterpump, clutch , . but all cars have these things , so yea get the 2.0 . neuspeed blower is cheap and reliable as well if down the road you want just a bit more go

changed my mind, looking for a 1.8t now. if things with that fall through i'll default back to the 2.0L. definitely need a manual for this car.

If you want the ricey one in Calgary, I am pretty confident they would come quite close to 10k!

strongly dislike rice. strongly. i want stock ride height and that kind of stuff.

im not a big.. exterior mod guy. i want a sleeper style car with a clean interior and a good drive. allroad was that until it became a huge maint. car.
