Well I guess it is always a risk with a low in the bumper intake but unless you are driving through giant puddles all the time I think the chances are slim you will have a problem.

I think lots of people use CAI, but it says you shouldnt use them in wet climates, however I have never heard of anyone having problems and Blair said just dont go rippin through giant puddles and take it easy over any puddle and you should be fine... but its a risk you'll have to take... I didn't, I went short ram!

I can't speak for a Rabbit, but my last car had an intake which sat right above the plastic guard on the wheel well, so very close to the ground, and I drove all year around with no issues at all. I did put a Injen Hydro Shield on it, don't know if it helped that much but just my $0.02

I love my Carbonio CAI. One of the noticed mod you can feel.
The sound(noise, my wife describe it...) is soo sweet & the
carbon fiber finish looks great too. I am living in WET vancouver
area, but I never have any problem so far... post us some
review after you install it... I'm sure you will like it.

Im pretty sure Erik from ROA has one on his bunny, and from what I can remember has never had any issues with it. Makes a great sound under load as well as when the SAI kicks in first thing cold.
