    Wiper motor/linkage problem

    The other day the wipers were moving really slowly on the MK4, and yesterday they completely stopped in the middle of the windshield. They were quite hard to push back down. Initially, I thought it was the motor that was gone, but after reading up on it, it appears a more common problem is the linkage.

    Has anybody on here dealt with this before or know how to fix it? Kinda wanna get this done ASAP as its really not safe driving in the snow without any wipers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Willing to compensate!!!

    P.S. I'm Polish so my currency is Vodka and Beer

    on mine, the bolt that holds the linkage to the motor was very loose. could be the same. it's just super awkward to reach.

        It is not so much the linkage but the joints that swivels the wiper. They seize up and just stop working after awhile. I have fixed mine before and it lasted a while but this year I just ended up buying a new motor/rack from tunedub for around $80. I would help you fix it but I am always tied up taking care of the kids as the wife works evenings (unless you want to come by at 10pm lol)
        PS I do have an extra motor if that is all you end up needing.

              Not exactly sure. most probalby the linkage/transmission was seized. I think the motor was still trying to work away at it. I'll find out more when we get the car back.

                    Car is fixed. Wiper linkage seized, thats all.
