  • More grinding noises on VW's

My girlfriends jetta, (mk3 2.0) is making some funky noises, the noise occurs when you let off the gas and is coming from the front passenger side. From this inside it sounds like a slight knocking and from the outside it sounds like a metal on metal grinding noise...I would think wheel bearings but they were done on both sides under 4K ago, perhaps they were installed incorrectly?
any thought what it could be? I'm going to pull the wheel off and have a gander tommorow.

could be installed wrong. I had one in my old mazda but in wrong and it didn't last long. Would have to be pretty bad to here grinding though, IMO. More rocks probably, given the crap on the roads.

Bearings generally go quiet when you load them up. So if loud when you turn left and quiet when you turn right (while cruising), its possible.
