  • Coilovers Installed

Woohoo!! I have coilovers! This is by far the best mod I've done yet. Thanks to Rabbit for the FK Highsports and the guys at C1 for the install. These suckers handle great. Nice and tight. The ride is not at all harsh. Just what I've been looking for.

    Will post pics soon.

Ouch!! Why the hell is the back so low. With the FK setups this is NEVER the case. I have my fronts just near as low as can be... the rears are as low as possible and I don't look "saggy" in the back like that.

Oh well. Needless to say, looks great, much better then stock!

Thanks guys. I was thinking the same thing Peter. The back does look lower. I was hoping someone would comment.

Well, it's been almost a week since the install and I feel that things have settled pretty much as far as they are gonna go. I've noticed that the drivers side is lower than the passenger side by almost a quarter inch. Maybe this is why my steering wheel is off center? Some of you have also noticed that my back appears to be more slammed than the front.

Anyway, I tried raising the rear and driver's side a bit and boy is it a ***** w/o a hoist. You gotta keep raising it, take the wheel off, adjust, put the wheel back on, lower, check height, go for a ride, check height again, damn they are all different. The back wheels I can do without taking the wheel off, but my issue is this: When I change the height on one corner, all of the other corners change too.

Does anyone know a good way to do this (assuming all the corners were at different heights to begin with)?

By the way, I do notice a slight difference in handling from even the small modifications that I am doing. I think the weight distribution is changing (kinda like cutting the legs of a chair so they are all different) and it really becomes noticeable when cornering.

I never adjust my coils. I let Concept-1 do that for me. That way I know that all four corners are level with one another.

All I'm saying is... it's worth the 15-min they charge you to adjust everything -- and you know it's done right... and your clothes remain clean.

Well, I might do it if they can get it done in 15min, but the guy quoted me up to an hour today and the earliest shop time was next Wed. At $70/ hour plus the wait, I thought I'd give it a try.

I think I will have C1 look at them every year for a lube and adjustment though.

Well whatever they charge... just bite the bullet and appreciate how clean your hands and clothes are.

Yeah, rolling around on the ground w/o a crawler (not even the Mexican kind) is not the cleanest a man can get and I've put my knuckles into the wheel well a few times.
