Plus - Loaded car with TDI and fairly low mileage (for a TDI car)
Cons -$15000.....$12 or $13K would be nicer.

77k is low foa a gas or deisel
They say average km per year is somewhere between 20k and 25k
so the car is 5 years old so at the very least it should have more like a hundred km on it.

Right now on kijiji there is a 2005 with 93k for $17500
        or a 2005 with 124k for $13000

        I would say it's a good deal

              Re: Good Deal?

Depends, does the car have the service history receipts etc? If its private, have a look at the previous owner, how did they drive the car? Whats their reason for selling? etc

TDIs though seem to go for a little bit more as you don't see them for sale much in comparison to 2.0L and 1.8Ts. Those diesels last forever too so most people don't sell them.

I would say that price is pretty average for those kms.

You may be right, but i also hear the turbos are weak in the TDIs

                        Re: Good Deal?

The turbo's honestly are not of your greatest concern honestly. The worst is the cam's and the dual mass flywheels on these years. Many on tdiclub are starting to switch to non spec oils as many feel that this is what is causing the cam problem.
Only other thing is if it has had the ceramic-steel glow plug recall done. Vw has suspended the recall as many people started having hard starts at mild weather with the new plugs. Best year for a used tdi still remains 2003 with a standard tranny.

Does $13,500 get this closer to sweet deal country?
