yea the underpowered high beam is the most ridiculous idea ever. I always get blinded by these DRLs, i find it is the worst on some of the chryslers and the new honda civics. I don't know how the engineers thought that they could just underpower headlights aimed right into other drivers' faces and everything would be ok haha.

it is ALMOST as bad as guys with HIDs in stock housings

Haha, I've been ignoring this thread, thanks guys.

But yeah these headlights are hit and miss, I dont really like them.... but they arent the worst ones i've seen.

Also yes, i have retrofit headlights that are replacing my current ones. I'm just in the process of fixing them.

Re: New Euro S5 Headlights for MK4 Jetta's!

Either way aftermarket led strips look to busy, don't flow with the look of the car. It looks like there just stuck on with two sided tape just for the sake of saying "I have LED's".
I'm sure there is some out there that can look good on the car. All im saying is I haven't seen any that look good thus far.

I'm all for the aftermarket world of parts, as long as it looks like it belongs on the car.
If you can't understand that, then go ahead ang rice out your cars with LED's and body kits, spoilers and fart cans.
I thought the euro scene was about keeping it clean, subtle and tasteful.

well i think what you have to understand is that modifying your vehicle is completely subjective. What looks good to you may not look good to someone else, now I don't intend any insult towards you with the follow statement but doesn't your car have yellow tinted headlights or something (could be someone else)?- that doesn't look good to me and doesn't look like it belongs on the car at all (to me) but I realize that it could look good to someone else.

Just look at some of the import car shows, its the guys with the crazy body kits, lambo doors, and crazy interiors winning the shows, not necessarily oem plus guys so obviously cars like that appeal to a lot of people

Re: New Euro S5 Headlights for MK4 Jetta's!

It had the yellow for a summer then took it off.
Never really liked it in the first place but figured i'd try it out seeing as i got the material for free.

How many guys in the wagenwerks vid's have stuff like that??

I dare someone to post that headlight up on the mk4 fourm on the vortex!!

I not going to tell anyone what to do to there cars, as I said to each there own.
Hope I didin't come off as a complete a$$ hole because I am not, I juat have a certain taste in mods and tend to get very upset when some people do stupid crap to there cars.
and thats stupid crap in my mind not anybody elses

Maybe it would look good if they were all "Ram" led pictures along the bottom, that would be kind of unique...hahaha

No, I just called you on the "it's not factory" comment. It's fine not to like something - I happen to hate the super stretch tire look or the horrible 6 degrees of camber in the rear. But to say a mod is bad cause it's not OEM is kinda nuts and/or hypocritical.

I have a cf hood, but it also has a decepticon sticker on it - half the forum hates it, so be it. And my headlights are some of the cheapest built (but oddly awesome looking to me). Keeps the world interesting.
