  • Wiper blades

I need to pick up some new wiper blades bad for my 01 MK4, and all I read on here is about Aero wipers, but can't seem to find them in stores.

What is the difference between Aero and Evolution?

    Evolution:

I understand you need different arms with Aero? It doesn't look that way with Evolution though?

Part Source has Evoultion's for about $20 a piece, whereas it sounds like an Aero "conversion" would cost about a $100.

What am I missing here? Should I just pick up some evolution's?

      Re: Wiper blades

nothing to do with the flexible wipers specifically, but the one OEM blade on the mk4 is curved to fit the contour of the bottom of the window so that the end doesn't hit the trim. I haven't seen anything after-market other than a strait blade, so the one that "fits your car" may still make a bit of noise nicking the plastic at the bottom of the window.

Is it possible that the Aero's are curved the same way? Could be one difference.

You can buy stock refills for your blades for 8 bucks or so. They used to only sell the whole assembly for 30. @ the parts counter.

I think this is what I'll just end up doing. I've read some reviews and it sounds like the aero's and evolution's lose their flex in the winter cold, so I think I'll just stick to stock for now.
