Tranny fluid top up.

Hey guys,
So my winter golf (MK3 1.8 8v CL) has a very slight tranny leak, if I park it over night I will have a quarter sized spot on the garage floor. Now this only happens when the temp outside gets really cold, like today the -30's it seems any other day its fine,also it seems to be leaking from where the CV goes into the diff
I have searched all around but I cant seem to find a DIY for a Check/flush/topup with pics. To my understanding you have to take off the wheel and the plastic shrowd and you can access the hex(?) bolts there.
If anyone can give me some info or a decent DIY link that would be great, also if anyone has any quicker ways of doing it that they want to share.

You more than likely leaking tranny fluid from the cv shaft seals. You will need to remove the cv shaft(s) depending which one is leaking if not both sides. Removing the shaft is easy. once you removed the shaft, you'll be left with just the flange on the trans. There will be a bolt in the middle of that flange. Remove bolt and remove flange from the trans. Replace the seal and reassemble everything in the reverse order. Top up fluid from the inspection plug and you're good to go!!

any idea how much this would run me at a shop? my garage is cold and I dont much feel like doing it.

It can vary from shop to shop, but I would charge 1- 1.5 hrs to do it.
