recently been calling around for quotes on car insurance and my car has an aftermarket suspension. so the insurance company refused me collision insurance as well as fire and theft. I guess it makes sense if they offered me higher rates for it but they absolutely refused... Does that make sense?

Re: insurance for modified cars
I called them again to inquire about their policy.. Everyones in mass hysteria since I compared it to lifted trucks.. Their trying to get their managers and they "talked it out".
I told them that they should be asking if componenents on the car are shot instead of asking if anything on the car was changed to brand spanking new parts that come with warranty. As components that are broken down is much more dangerous than new aftermarket ones. They apologized for the misunderstanding and finally offered me collision and fire and theft. But here we go.. they're charging me $3600. **** THAT ****! I'm paying way less than that right now... **** AB insurance for males under 25 years old.. I'm not even going to bother with this **** anymore until after I turn 25. Fucking assholes!Last edited by onepointeightdub; 12-10-2009, 07:03 PM.drive green ||

Re: insurance for modified cars
Yup! Meloche monnex for the win!! I deal with quite a few different insurance companies with my work and they are by far the easist to deal with and the best prices. Canadian Direct Insurance and AMA are the fucking worst (from a customer services perspective anyway!)!!!!Derek

Re: insurance for modified cars
your car is just another volkswagen.
if you want to insure to the additional dollar amount that you think your suspension adds, find a broker that will insure to a dollar amount that you're happy with.
as for an insurance provider, just be smart and shop around. your likely best-bet will be a smaller brokerage that carries multiple products. an agent should at least be able to go through what they have to offer, and send you in the best $$$ direction.
(i might have some experience in the insurance industry, pm me if you like...)

Re: insurance for modified cars
I have had a couple of (weather related) accidents while in meloche monnex. They have always been fine. My rates did not even really get that bad. They were always fast, got me a rental etc. No issues. They were evengood after the bad hail storm in 06.John
