  • Vibrations over 100kph from snow in wheels?

Just trying to calm my thoughts but that's normal correct? The vibration is quite harsh and it's definitely not the engine. I tried to speed up to 100 and placed the car in neutral so the rpm's dropped and the car was still shaking.

Also worth mentioning I changed the suspension and got the wheel alignment done twice. The first time steering wasn't quite straight and I was able to drive the car fine with and had no vibrations on the deerfoot above 100kph and second time which is when the vibrations started.

Im almost 100% sure it's the snow in the wheels but trying to see if there are any other things it could be.

Snow or ice. You could take it to a "do it yourself" car wash and use the hot water to clean all the snow/ice out of your wheels then see if it still makes the sound.

park in a underground heated parkade and melt that stuff out.. its snow i bet or ice for sure.. happens all the time in the winter.. espcially with how deep its been on the roads as of late.

Same deal for me man, I parked underground for dinner one night and fixed it. My father had the same thing and wanted me to drive next to him and look at his wheels to see if they looked off in any way. I suggested this, he went to Market Mall for an evening and fixed the whole thing too.

Ice + wheels = mad vibrations at high speeds. All the unbalanced wheel fun and jazz.

Man you guys must have precise stuff. I had a friend install some $50 motomaster tires on my bus. The cheapest things I could find. They aren't balanced, or anything. Just install on 30 year old OEM bus rims. Made a few trips to edmonton and back no vibration nothing. Strange.

Any suggestions for a place with [edit:] heated underground parking?

Of course it's snow in the wheels... I had to get out and use the snow brush to clear the packed snow from the wheels after my fun on Friday night and Saturday. Man it's fun going sideways and through snow drifts!

It's all part of the winter fun.

So did the heated garage fix it? If not, are your wheels balanced properly?

haven't done anything to it yet. I had the wheels balanced at urban expressions at the beginning of the year and it has been issue free until the snow hit. I probably won't get to it until the weekend. No driving over 80kph until then.. with the way the weather's turning out lately that shouldn't be too hard to do.
