  • MK2 question

So after my VR6 crapped out on me in the summer I picked up a 91 Jetta as I really was not up for buying a new car at the time. The heater fan crapped out on me last thursday and its getting a little cold in the car..... I can feel the heat still works just no fan to get the air moving. My question is this, will a heater fan from a car with AC in work in my NON-AC car?

    Thanks

    No.

Are you sure it's not your switch?
Remove the heater fan and take a look it might be packed in ice..

Is the heater fan behind the glove box?

yes it is. Try using the other fan from the ac car. You'll never know until you try.

          Re: MK2 question

it coud be the resistor that controls the speed. these things do burn out in other cars a lot and i think the MK2s used the same thing?? anyone?

they look liek a huge circuit board and are ususally house inside the fan area somewhere but not sure on the MK2. In my life ive always found the fan to be jsut fine and this thing dead.

you can often pull them out of the bottom of the heater assembly without removing the whole thing but again im not sure on the MK2
