the car is a 2001 VW Jetta VR6 (not mine thank god) and the female who only had one key... lost it...
I understand that if you loose your only key and you have an immobilizer the car and the new cut key must be in the same location to be reprogrammed.
The big problem is that we live 1200km from the nearest dealer.
soooo questions
1) how do you know if there is an immobilizer
2) can just the ECM be sent to the dealer...(or some other removable part that contains the programming)
3) or is she totally SOL and going to have to flat deck her car down south
