  • Clutch slipping

OK getting onto Crowchild this morning from Memorial and shifting into 3rd I noticed some slipping and had to ease off. Maybe clutch time or can I wait for the spring if I go easy for the winter.

Looking at maybe a VW OEM VR6 clutch with a G60 lighten flywheel.

Are there any other options? Where in Calgary? I have seen others like Sachs, Valeo, South Bend, Autotech on TDIclub?

    Re: Clutch slipping

I get a bit more rattle from the single mass flywheel. The normal TDI noises seem to resonate a bit. All in all, its a good setup though.

I was looking at the Stage 3 kit from ECS, unfortunately, time wasn't on my side, so went with the OEM 6speed 02M and paid $$$$$$$$..
including more than $1000 for the flywheel alone.

I suggest starting your search, and perhaps buy the full kit ahead of time, & use George @ TuneDub.

The VR6 with the 9/lbs flywheel is superlight for a TDI...I had one in my golf and could feel each and every gear and it's different weight...it was scary light. If your keeping your car stock or only doing light mods to it, I would suggest the VR6....but it can get a little annoying in heavy traffic.
