top of the pic...use something like that...but make sure its kinda angled. Not sure of the proper name of the tool. But put one end on the bottom of the wiper and the other on the thing that the screw went on. It will come off. Dont lean the tool against the windshield tho.
yeah i gotta either get me one of those or see if vwsm can give me a hand tomorrow

I have had this problem off and on for years. It is due to corrosion in the wiper join in the rack. I finally went a bought a new one from George for $70 (with motor) but have yet had time to put it in.

To get those pesky wiper arms off of the linkage is like an art. The easiest way to get them off is to get an wiper arm puller from Snap-on or Mac-tools. Those ones work the best, but you could probably use the ones from Princess Auto. It literally took me a few months to perfect doing it by hand. Theres a certain spot on the wiper arm that you have to flex back and forth to free up the corrosion between the two metals, to be able to remove them without this special tool.

The tool looks something like this....http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog

PM me if you need one!!

                Battery clamp puller works great.
