  • Where to buy …

A drop in air filter. Apparently I don't know, crappy tire doesn't have the right ones. Only cabin air filters. Suggestions? Thanks guys.

Secondly, my EPC light just came on twice during the day. After a couple searches I saw something about rear lights? Thanks guys.

Did you read this? Second paragraph. I wouldn't use a Drop in filter.

That seems to be an oiled drop in filter, rather than an OEM paper drop in filter.

It seems Canadian Tire actually DOES carry paper filters, they just don't list it anywhere. The first kid I talked to did what I did, read the book they have on the shelf. The second guy looked it up in their system. Voila.

Alright a second edit for that EPC light thing. I've done a little digging on Vortex and here's what I've found so far. EPC controls many systems, okay. Sometimes it's connected to a MAF issue. However it seems in those cases the CEL and ASR lights came on though. For me it's a intermittent and neither the ASR or CEL pop up. The EPC light is solid as well, not flashing. Now most other people mentioned that they had a loss of power as well, I haven't noticed that yet. Also I searched on here and I can definitely rule out cold as a factor, considering it was about 18ºC when it first happened.

      Anyone have any ideas?

Get the car scanned and you'll probably get it figured out.

I'am confused do you want an airfilter or oil filter??
And why do you go to Canadian Tire?
          Air filter o.e.m 15.20
          Oil filter 15.10 o.e.m
24 valve about 1 american dollar more.

It was the engine air filter, not the oil filter. I ended up getting one for right around $15.

Any advice or knowledge on that EPC light? It happened again this morning, it was off for the majority of the drive in, then came on on 9th Ave only to turn off again less than a minute later. Then came back on right before getting to work.

i'd just buy your airbox filter from the dealership.. they are pretty cheap

EPC light is emissions.. need to scan your car.. could be an 02 sensor maybe

correct me if i'm wrong but isnt the EPC light your electronic pedal control? This happened to my gf in the mk4 (automatic tranny) and basically wouldnt recognize when the brake pedal was applied to allow the car out of park. had to replace the EPC module under the dash. $7.00 part, 15 minute fix. If your car is standard, i'm really not sure what the problem is.

See I think my brake lights are intermittent at the moment, big safety issue there. From what I found online thus far it seems it controls the power and things like that. Some people mentioned that it was connected to the pedals as well. Except that was just for the gas pedal.

It was the brake micro switch … $47 later and it's all good. Many thanks to Paul and the guys at Bert & Jacks.
