I am looking into buying a 91 G60 and was just woundering if there are any little thing's that I should be looking for? The car has low KM's but the only thing that worries me is that I was told by a freind that the G60 are prone to motor problem's and that I would be better off with a VR6 any thoughts?

Re: Corrado question's
G60's arent prone to motor problems as they are a 1.8 8V, what the real problem of them is the G ladder charger that likes to explode if they are not rebuilt or maintained.
If it was cheaper and clean I would get a G60 and swap in BBM charger, but if you can get a VR for the same price I'd go that route"If it has tits or wheels it will give you trouble"

Re: Corrado question's
The supercharger is a very expensive POS just waiting to fail.
Things that are prone to not work on Corrados:
Sunroof, not opening, or leaking. Check the floors behind the seats.
Spoiler, not working
Power windows, they don't like to go up or down
Steering column being loose.
Headlights full of water? probably just leaking
Any body damage? Very expensive, and not available in the aftermarket
Corrados are very finicky cars, and despite basically being built from the parts bin parts aren't cheap. Anything like body parts, or corrado specific interior stuff is very expensive and quite often only available from the dealer. Sadly for as sexy as the rado' is there just not worth it. I've had several and will never again own one. There a sunday car, simply because there broken the remaining 6 days a week. Unless you can afford to basically replace everything on the thing (trust me it will break) pass on it and buy something else.2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS. Daily. Far from stock.
2001.5 Audi S4. Billet rs6 and everything else. FOR SALE. $6500
Need this car sold.
1960 Ford Falcon.

Re: Corrado question's
I owned a G60 for 5 years as a daily driver. When things worked I loved it. When things were breaking (often) I hated it. My G-Lader started going bad at 225,000 KMs. Regular oil changes will help the supercharger last much longer. Not a fast car by any means, but still one of the best looking VW's in my opinion.

Re: Corrado question's
They're fine if you have one that was taken care of. Problem is 99% of them have been bagged on too hard by young kids and never properly maintained. I do have to somewhat agree w/ G60's though... I had a G60 Passat and that thing was a money pit if i've ever seen one. But I've had my VR6 for over 6yrs and 70k and I think i've done wheel bearings, a motor mount, O2 sensor, and clutch
Shameless plug: Mine's for sale.Chris
