I would look into getting some if I was you. Water, dirt, rocks, all can create situations where braking power will be diminished and wear will occur more quickly. If stock ones work, but don't cover the entire rotor that is better then nothing still.

The 1 inch area isn't too serious. You'll be fine. The only real purpose of those is to limit the brake dust from getting all over the spindle, cv shafts etc, etc. Thats why they are called dust sheilds. If anything, the brakes will cool faster.

Probably you would be wise to put the larger dust shields on, the thing is, they are as big as the rotors from the factory for a reason. Without appropriate "dust shielding" how will your dust know where to go. (Just Kidding) The Brakes look Great Robert!!
